Great time at the conference. Good to see so many of same fans, alum and staff. I think decent chance Ervin comes back. Cattoor would be the wild card

Kevin Giltner said on Twitter he was going to be working at Va Tech. We can be sure that our two coaches are working to recruit both players and new assistant coaches.

The McAuley interview is at about the 45 minute mark.

He said that we can look to hear about the new coaches (Coach Murphy is staying, Giltner to VT, so we have two to replace) by the end of the week. He said there were verbal commitments but for HR purposes and other technical stuff he wasn't at liberty to say.

Also, he said that NO ONE is transferring. We are in a good place as a program.

Sounds like staff announcements any day now. Anyone else notice how kevin and david waited until today to announce so Jay could have his day and not take away from it. Pretty cool

I really like where we are as a program right now. No current players transferring, both current and transitioning coaches really care about this place. This is why I love Wofford basketball and I'm thankful RJ proved me wrong about him with this hire.

One thing that this team has that others in the conference don't is an authentic connection to each other. Lots of heart and they act like a family. I'm not saying I like our chances to repeat, but they look better than they did a week ago.

Looks like Mike just hired his third assistant. Retained one from VT, hired one from kansas state and now apparently one from cincy. Great hires and great recruiting records. But brings to question two things:
1- perhaps kevin will be director of basketball operations as only 3 assistants can recruit
2- if Shane didnt get the job as most people thought he might does that mean perhaps hes coming back to wofford?

I wonder if Kevin was offered the top asst. job at Wofford. It’s a little surprising to me that he would turn that down for a lower level position at VT – if that’s what has happened. Who knows. Either way, I hope things go well for all parties. It might be good for Kevin just to gain experience in a different setting. And, of course, we are talking about the ACC…

I mentioned a few names earlier. But, yes, Shane Nichols would be a great hire for us, I’d think. And Drew Gibson and Mike Lenzly, who were both very good point guards for Wofford, are in coaching. I’d be happy to see one of them come back.

I haven't given up on Tim Johnson. He is perhaps the third assistant at James Madison, and first assistant at Wofford would be pretty good. Then there are a bunch of other great connection coaches and players out there that would be good for us. I have all the confidence in Jay to surround himself with good ones.

What I like about these coaching situations is that it seems that everyone is where they want to be. Maybe Giltner wanted to have a better title than what he has at VT, but if he wanted to be at Wofford he would have.

I'm glad that KG moved on to VT because he needs some variation on his resume. He's been at Wofford for a few years and to grow in any profession, it's always a good idea to find new environments and challenges.

Will be fun to see for sure. I know Drew would be happy to come back. Not sure if Tim or Shane would accept it or not but either would be great. Kevin seems to be in lesser title there but guessing money is better and will be great for him to branch out and gain the experience. He will be a head coach one day so the more he can learn and experience now the better

+1.
I like what Storm said about Jay’s strong contribution to the team last season, especially on D; we took a giant leap on the defensive end last season, IMO, and must really focus on continuing that this year.

Id be shocked if staff wasnt announced tomorrow. Seems to have been confirmed early week and just waiting on formalities. With so many offices closed friday I'd think perhaps tomorrow. Need to make it official and get guys on the road recruiting for 2020-2021

I agree with keeping Will Murphy and hope we can fill the other two slots with one legacy Wofford guy and one outsider with some experience under at least one other top flight coach. While I love the Wofford flavor we have maintained, I also think some cross pollenation is a good thing, too. Whatever we do and whomever we bring in, getting them in from of Ervin and Cattoor immediately is key to our success going forward. I know we have the two redshirt guys from this year coming in, but we can not sustain where we are by losing an entire recruiting class.
