Good stop after giving them such good field position. Need to get back on our horse.

OK, I had a little spell when we decided to throw on first down from the 15-after pounding them down the field. But we recovered and scored. Time to really establish our superiority.

Small win-could be a big one depending on what we do. The stop has to boost our guys, though.

I think Henson was dead wrong on the "go for it on fourth down call." A field goal puts WCU in position that they have to have 8 to tie. Fail to make it and a TD puts us behind. The field goal was the right call and we made it.

Well, after one of the worst halves of football we have played in a very long time, we show a lot of pluck and get it together for a victory we had to have. I thought for sure they were about to tie it, but then George Gbeese comes up big against WCU again! We are still alive for a conference title and a playoff spot. We need Samford to knock off ETSU next week...I think we get the auto bid if it happens.

38-23 W, whew.

In the first half, our pass D, which I thought - with its experience - was getting better and would be very good this year, was very poor. They dinked us to death.

Our pass rush, which I thought was getting better, did not come close to their QB.

In the second half, Newman had relatively fresh legs and really showed flashes of his elusive ability and speed. Threw the ball well too. Our other guys were relatively fresh in the second half and played better perhaps because of it.

Play of the game: The pass and catch to Lindsey on third and long to prolong the drive. Sure, the Gbesse pick was huge also, but the throw and catch in a "must throw" situation was the biggest, IMO. Gutsy win for our guys and our coaches. We may not be the powerhouse we had hoped, but a bunch of good teams have lost along the way as well. Going into what may be our last game against PC this team is 7-3 in the first year of a new coach. Kudos to both Coach Conklin and Coach Ayers. Coach Ayers left lots in the cupboard, and Coach Conklin took a team he didn't know with new coaches and had a great season. I know we have to beat PC, but we have to give credit to the coaches. As for the team, we know our own weaknesses, as will every team we play. We also know that this team is capable of being very good at times. In addition they have the heart of a champion, and senior leadership that helps the underclassmen along. They have made us all proud to be Terrier fans.

Rewatching some of this game and I can't help but think that Joe Newman played more decisive than he has in a while
