No way I am giving up on them either; we are currently 6-6, about where we were last year when Wanink was injured. However, we need to acknowledge what we are doing inadequately and fix it before the conference games start.
We were out rebounded 57-31. We are not that small inside, but we were standing around and not boxing out and App was fighting for and getting the ball. We are 6-0 in games this year when we have out rebounded the other team; 0-6 when we have been out rebounded. More than anything, rebounding is a barometer, and is about effort, hard work and relentlessness, and we showed none of that tonight. They were making us work hard for our shots but too often we were not making them work for theirs, including countless second chances. Our defense and rebounding were not feeding our offense. And we must learn to play and give better effort on the road if we are to have a successful season. We can do, and have done, a lot better than we have shown these last two games. This team is better than that - not the same old same old.
