VanCleave and Nate Walker in the fold now. Good news on walker. I thought we’d keep him but haven’t found any confirmation unti now.
Class is shaping up. Need that ILB.

Agreed Nate Walker is a stud and should be outstanding. How many more do we need and/or expect to sign ? We lost 23 or thereabouts last year so I would assume we need around that same number to sign. But I am speculating. I have not seen any surprises yet although I am most definitely excited about this class. It is shaping up to be a great one

Disappointing that we lost Ifanse but we did get Nathan Walker. They are nearly the same in size and speed. Looking at their highlights both have power and speed for their size. I am not sure which one is the better player though. Opinions ? Insights ?

Wait I need to change that. I now see that Walker is taller and heavier so I am going to compare Ifanse with Colby Wood. Although I can not find a 40 time for Wood. But he does look fairly fast and Ifanse and Wood are the same height and weight. And Wood does have power. So even though a comparison is limited I would say that Wood does compare favorably to Ifanse while Ifanse would probably edge him out in a more accurate comparison. But it would be a close race IMHO. Getting back to Walker he has similar speed to Ifanse but is much heavier (190 vs 213) so based on that it seems that Walker is the better choice especially when running up the middle or off tackle. Conclusion is that it is disappointing that we did not get Ifanse but with Wood and Walker we still came out of it in good shape. We would have been in even better shape with Ifanse. I still think this class is a very good one even without Ifanse

According to this http://www.wyff4.com/article/national-signing-day-updates-on-local-athletes/16655629, Tanner Barnes has signed. He's a bit under-sized for our recent DLs (@ 6'3 220), so LB might be in the cards for him (and we do have a history of turning a good HS DE into an all SoCon ILB--Mike McCrimon).

Also, Cagan Campbell is going with Jax State and Michael Campbell with Mercer. A QB we had offered a while ago but not much on lately, Tyshun Sarrat, is going with Johnson C. Smith.

Disappointing that we lost both Campbell guys and Sarrat. Barnes could be an ILB (he has good size) or he could be a OLB. Ruckus is he a good ILB or were you thinking he would be OLB ? or something else entirely ?

New coach Seifkes says Fuller will be an ILB. Seems a little small - 5'11" and 200 lbs - but does size matter that much for ILB ? I thought ILBs had to be at at least 220. And of course Fuller could beef up to about 220 after working out with the weights https://youtu.be/6ET8127JAd4

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog
