Went to the game tonight. We played very disjointedly for the first 2 1/2 quarters and got down by 13. Then Jamari McDavid came in and almost singlehandedly brought us back from 13 down to tie it. In the the fourth quarter we returned to our earlier ways and lost by about 15. UNCG appears to have a little more talent, especially Soliman (who is clearly their best player and whom we did not guard well enough, along with their other 3 point shooters); on the other hand, they are beatable and maybe we will get them in Sparkle City, where we tend to play better. Booker and Green also did some good things; the rest pretty much had an off night. We got killed on the boards. UNCG now 7-11 and Wofford now 7-10.
We have several players who are promising, and a couple who clearly are not, and a couple who could go either way. With next year's recruiting class, we should be improved and have a chance to compete well in the league. We have a chance still to win our share of remaining games this year, but the team can be very inconsistent, especially without Wanink. Wanink was on the bench and has a brace on her leg; I hope her situation is one from which she will fully recover.
