living in the land of the Tar Heels you can imagine I have been getting texts and emails all night and day. My friends have generally been very gracious in defeat. Most share the opinion that the game last night will improve both teams in many ways. We next play at UNCG on the 30th, and that will be quite a test for the conference opener. With no students and on a holiday weekend it will probably be a sparse crowd. It will be a great opportunity for our fans to make a short road trip up to Greensboro and support our guys. UNCG was a powerful team last year and they have already gone down to Raleigh and beaten NC State.
If you want to have a little fun just look up Wofford defeats UNC on youtube. There are some great ESPN, CBS and other segments that involve interviews with Coach Young. We have had our 15 minutes of fame. Now it is time to use that to our advantage. Can you imagine how much fun our guys are having today arriving back home and seeing their friends who watched them on TV last night? This is going to Make Christmas a lot of fun for them.

I am so proud of them. They didn’t blink or shy away from the moment. They played and acted like they belonged there (and they did). Those 4 FTs hit by Stumpe and Brooks were the cherry on top of the sundae. Cam Jackson had a coming out party. There is no reason why he can’t do that every night in the SoCon.
They earned this win in every sense. Hope they are able to build on it.

I thought it was interesting how young we are as a team. They mentioned on ESPN that we're in the top 5 youngest teams in Division.

I find that really weird because it felt like we were younger last year. I think we definitely have the ingredients to go on a Socon championship run. Just like in prior years where we went on a run, we're pretty much the same team as the year before (with one or two exceptions) but team chemistry is what's the difference.

Our OOC record is pretty good as well.

The game with Wofford had the affect on UNC that was anticipated, as they defeated Ohio State in New Orleans today rather handily. 'Ole Roy read them the riot act and they responded. We will find out in a week if it does for us what we hope, and if our guys come out with confidence against UNCG next Saturday afternoon.

More immeasurable publicity: Tracy Willson reports that Buffalo Bills coach showed his team highlights of our UNC win. Told them “Look how calm the Wofford kids are. They expect to win.”

Just a thought, since the Appies are mentioned on the football site. Which is bigger, App's win against Mich in football, or ours against UNC in basketball?

My vote: Ours ... Michigan was having a down year (finished #18), and UNC is still one of the country's top basketball teams, as proved vs. Ohio State yesterday.
