We have to beat PC. No excuse not to.

They are tied with D2 (?) Cumberland in the third quarter. 20-20. no excuse for it to be close next week.

I bet it’s closer than we want it to be.

In the last 3 years or so, PC has scored 20 or more points 7 times. 3 times against Campbell. 2 times against Coastal Carolina. Once against Western Carolina. And this week against a D2 team.

I'm not saying these data points mean we'll win, just that if we don't and don't handily we have some major problems. Gardner Webb is better than this crowd, and they quite frankly don't look D1 on this stream I'm watching.

I highly doubt we’ll lose to PC. It’s just that it seems like we often play to the level of competition we face lately. All our games are close. A lot that could have to do with our style of play. Truth be told, all that’s really important in the end is getting the W whether it’s by 1 or 50, but it just doesn’t look as good to fans when you’re always squeaking by and therefore there’s complaining. But coaches don’t care about that stuff; they only care that we somehow get the win. I bet PC isn’t a blowout, but when we face WCU the net week we’ll up our game and that one will be close too, with us hopefully winning.

Also, Cumberland rushed for 266 yards and had 2 players rush for 100+.

there are so many reasons why this game should not be close. I'm not trying to rag on PC, it's just that we really really should win and it shouldn't be close and if we continue to play as poorly as we are to where it isn't, we are in trouble.

Did some research... Cumberland is an NAIA from Tennessee... About left Clinton with a win and some cash.

I doubt they got an extremely large check from going to PC where they maybe have 500 people at a game.

The past three games, the Baptists have been giving us a run for the money. Now it is the Presbyterians' turn.

I think we are predestined to handle the Presbyterians, but I am somewhat concerned about the following week's game with our friends from Cullowhee. There's not going to be much room for error there as they are scoring points in bunches on everyone.

A win over us would please them as much as a win over anyone on their schedule. They will be gunning for us, and they have some size, experience, and talent. They defeated a respectable Campbell team. And they have faced some good competition (Wake and Cid) so they will not be intimidated.

Cumberland is most famous for losing to Georgia Tech 212-0.

Older PC fans remember back when Wofford's big rivals were PC and Newberry (the Purple Pukes got tired of losing at Snyder Field and wouldn't play us). They will be ready for us. They will also have Big South referees looking out for them. They caused us trouble the last time we played in Clinnon. They have already seen the Citadel's triple option. They are also struggling with D-1 (we should all thank Marshall for leaving the SoCon when we did, or we could be stuck in the quagmire of the Big South), so this should be a big win for us.

I believe we will win this game by a larger margin than all our previous games combined (which would be 5 points). We should win 42-0, but will probably escape with a 10 point win. Ayers' teams have always suffered from a problem of playing to the level of the competition, 2003 being the exception. Ayers' teams also have difficulty with putting games away and allowing teams to hand around too long - on the other hand, we still generally win those games.

I think we win this one 41-14.

We smacked PC the last time we played them and we weren't too good then.

That NAIA didn't drive 5 plus hours to play an FCS school for no check... Spangler has his work cut out for him down there... Who in the world wants to spend 4 years in that dump? Terriers in a route 45-0.

I remember well going down there however many years ago (six??) when we expected to roll over PC. It was hot as blue blazes and that game came down to the end with us winning by one score in a game as close as it sounds. They can be tough, and this will be the biggest game of their season.

I am a Wofford guy from the era of PC being our biggest rival and while I wanted to leave them behind in the years after we moved up, my opinion has evolved and now I'd like to see us have a permanent home and home with them. It's a historic and geographic rivalry that could get back to being a big deal. I promise its a big deal to everyone on both sides over the age of 40. Furthermore, since we are in different conferences it is a big help for both from a scheduling perspective. I'd much rather see Wofford play PC and G-W every year like this season than see UVA-Wise, J. C. Smith, Union, Lincoln or the like on the schedule.
