As "Nature Boy" Ric Flair liked to say, "to be the man you got go beat the man." And right now El Cid is " the man". When we de-throne them, we will be "the man." But not until then.

If you've ever played at, attended or have had family that has played at Wofford you'd know that nothing is ever given to you at Wofford. Never has, never will be. This team has a group of seasoned veterans that understand what it takes to compete at this level and win. There's not a person on that roster that isn't tuned into the fact that they have to work hard and earn everything. These preseason accolades and projections are cool for fans, they are a direct result of the work that These young men have put in. But just like when we are traditionally picked 7th, the same hard work has to be put in to show everyone those projections were wrong.

This is as hard of a camp as there is in the country. There's no 2 ways around it, you will work your tails off or you won't make it in this program. Folks need not worry about the team not being focused due to preseason rankings or projections, they already understand the work on the field is what counts. These players are ready to show the country what they have fought for over these years.

Coach Ayers was going to be surly regardless of how they looked.......trust me. Won't be much praises or
Glowing assessments coming from camp regardless. It's business as usual

You are correct 19. Coach A has got to do what he can to keep these guys hungry despite their being told how wonderful they are before any games have been played. No Allen Iversoneque attitudes about practice will be tolerated! But it shouldn't be very de=difficult to keep the motivation sky high, especially considering how last season ended. I have extremely high hopes for 2017, but I also know that NOTHING is going to come easy...we already have a big target on our backs! Furman would love to come to Spartanburg and pin an "L" on us right out of the gate! So Coach knows he has to demand a lot!

Glad that Todd is paying attention. My guess is that he will come up with a few more before this is over!

SoCon not treated too well on this preseason FCS AA team. Nor were the Dogs; we had only Brown, on second team. One team (SoDakSt) had six, two with five each.

FCS has always been about big state schools with FBS transfers. With the exception of UTC, that's not the SoCon.
SoCon was well represented last year in post season.
I assure you, they don't want none of the Short Haired Dogs.

Couple of roster changes:
Jr. OLB Tyreik Lyles from Byrnes high has been removed from the roster completely. Not sure what happened there but he was in our 2 deep. Great kid. Good student.
F DL Myles Price from Charleston area has been removed from the roster as well.

Lyles is a head scratcher; wonder who will step up (we appear to have several possibilities).
