We have some very nice skill at the receiver position. About as good as a team that doesn't really throw the ball could ever expect to have. We have the full capability to be effective with the forward pass, in all facets. Whether it be screen game, intermediate / timing routes, play action, and Deep balls. Brandon is as good as a throwing QB as we have had in a while at the helm. It all goes back to philosophy and scheme. We just are more about wearing a team down physically, and managing the clock then we are concerned with our quick strike ability. And it is a shame really. I personally feel, that we have given games up that we could have won had we simply incorporated some of our passing ability, also, I think our progression to contend nationally will have the same results on the big stage.
I can tell you from our home front that RJ is preparing to have a DYNAMIC Senior season. The way he is working and training, and preparing, he will be ready if and when he is given the chance to shine. He has been working with Dougie Allen (Ex UK Wide REceiver) on fine tuning skills. He has been frustrated by his use in this system obviously, but loves the School/Program/ and his brothers on the team. He wants to go out in style and not have any regrets. I think he will be a major factor for us this season.
