James Madison most like Wofford as a football team....

In style and play. But James Madison offense is what Wofford should blueprint. Run heavy with a consistent passing attack

IMO. They look good early with NDSU. Wofford was as good as anyone in the country this season. Seeing these games is a reminder how good we were

I wish we had a consistent effective passing attack too. But I think we are dreaming. It has become all too obvious that it is never going to happen, not with the current coaching staff. I think it is a big reason we have never won a national title. But it isn't going to change. Our coaches do not like the pass. I have often wondered what would happen if we changed to a more normal offense like Furman has, one with a 50-50 run/pass mix. But I may never find out...

We frequently pass by only sending out one receiver. this rarely works. A passing game would greatly augment our offense, but our current OC doesn't understand the forward pass. If has been that way for 20 years.

Congrats to James Madison for knocking off NDSU. That's one MVFC team down, hopefully the other falls tomorrow.

As for passing, I just don't see it becoming a focus. Wofford's offense is what it is. There's no reason to expect a change until there are different coaches as they are most obviously set in their ways. My guess is that they feel passing increases risk so they prefer to pound the run and eat up the game clock. I'm fine with avoiding a vertical passing game, but I think a short passing game to guys coming out of the backfield or low risk intermediate, possession-type routes are reasonable.

What might change about our offense sooner rather than later is how we choose to run the ball. Having speedier, shiftier runners like Joe Newman and Blake Morgan coming up could change the dynamic from the fullback up the middle fare we've had for some time.
