In another case of deja vu, we come to the end of our season and we have expended most of the playbook or lost it in the Santee Cooper. For some number of years now our offense has just bogged down as the year goes on. We use less and less players and less and less plays, and we become totally predictable. We have no way to do anything on the outside that makes the opposition play us straight. Our "trick" plays don't trick anyone. The only thing we did in the first half that was different was the "BEEF BONE!" It worked great, but we never saw it again. What about those plays from our own 4 near the end of the half? Wouldn't the beef have been a great idea there? Man, we just don't have any imagination offensively at all. As soon as we started the double flip back play The Citadel was all over it and the LB's headed straight for our QB. That play worked a couple of times, but it has been scouted by all of our opponents and won't work. If we are going to move the ball at all we have to figure out how to either block on the interior or run the ball outside (maybe both). The Citadel obviously figured they can't beat us with the same game plan as before. Not sure why our coaches can't see the same thing.
