We're up 24-16 in the fourth. Have to put this one away. Can't afford big mistakes.

Unfortunately, the kickoff was classic Wofford football also.

Solid win. Western was a team likely to put a lot of points on us and our defense bent but didn't break

This definitely gives a good feeling going into the bye week before seeing El Cid.

Nice to have a couple of weeks to prepare for the Bellhops.

Ironically, the two most important offensive plays of the game for WCU were broken plays. Maybe 3 of them. A goofy pitch forward when the QB was going down; a goofy play in which the ball was fumbled up into the air and Newsome caught it and ran for good yardage followed by a penalty; and the phantom fumble or handoff in a pile that Newsome once again ran for a big gain.
It seemed to me that every time we did any kind of stunt we got good pressure on the QB and something good happened for us. On offense we were effective on our throws and those two reverses. Mix it up and it works!

Whenever you hold a team as good offensively as they are below 20, you played a good game. We forced turnovers and didn't turn the ball over.

We dominated time of possession.

We have a solid team. Maybe not flashy, but solid nevertheless.

Excellent well-played game. LoLo is a stud, Wilson is a beast, and Marvin is an artist. Our linemen are some tough dudes. Our db's did well, but need to CATCH some of those interception opportunities. Goodson is getting it.

Whew, got it done...another in the w column! Good journeyman like game on both sides of the ball. A few little mistakes (less than avg.), but an overall sweet win. Rest up, get our minds right, and sharpen-up for El Cid. Yipee!

4-2. 2-1 in the socon. Destiny in front of us. Good win and great BYe setup. Now sit back and watch citadel and Chatt battle and wait for the loser to pounce on.

Do we thank the schedule makers now given our bye week occurs just BEFORE the Old Gold & Black's biggest conference games?
