The thing is, we've been to the NCAAs a lot more than they have recently, and won a lot more games. They've never really been a successful basketball program. Who do they think they are, Kansas? We need to go to Boulder and shut their Rocky Mountain pieholes.

I won''t laugh because I don't think it's funny. But I can accept that it was a joke, or at least an attempt at one. The thing that bothers me is the fact that they would produce this satire means that they probably don't really take us seriously. I want our program to be one that other teams are scared of. I want people to say "uh oh" when they see Wofford on their schedule, not produce "comedy" about us. I bet they'd never do this for Davidson.

Eh, Davidson has been to the Elite 8 and we haven't won a tourney game yet, let alone several, so I'm not too surprised at the admittedly satirical response. We're a small school with an unusual mascot in a city most people haven't heard of- it kinda lends itself to jokes like this. As our team develops and if we can become a consistent mid-major power, the jokes will go away and the respect for our program will grow. I think the opening of our new stadium will give our program that much more credibility in the eyes of the media, opposing fans and, most importantly, future recruits.
