ESPN3 Broadcast/Hauser and Henson

Postby wocomouth on Tue Sep 20, 2016 10:26 am

I quick huge THANK YOU to the Wofford folks that figured out how to have Hauser and Henson do the ESPN3 broadcast this past Saturday. It is very enjoyable to hear our "voices" on a TV game. The broadcast was very well done and enjoyable to watch......had a real ESPN feel. Will that continue this football and basketball season?

If you don't watch or listen to Hauser and Henson, you should. Two of the best in the business at any level. Their handling of the Michael Roach incident was as professional a job I have heard in my 40+ years of listening to sports. They are already in mid-season form. Wofford is very lucky to have both of them.

Totally agree ... as good as any. Listening to a little of the others recently (e.g., UNC, Furman, Tenn Tech)made me appreciate Mark and Tom even more; a clear cut above.

Having been an announcer in a prior life, I am always very aware of the announcers; be they stadium announcers or TV or radio. I also have friends who announce for other programs, and here in Winston-Salem is the home of the IMG College network. The truth is that Mark is an old time pro who is far below his level with us, and Thom has learned his craft well and knows when to speak and when to let Mark go. I would guess that with the new system it is easy to track when folks tune in to either radio or TV online, so they have a handle on their audience. Personally I have been obnoxious keeping my earphones on in some dicey situations so I can listen. Now that I have been taught how to find the ESPN app on ROKU I am watching Wofford on large screen high tech. The only thing better is to be there in person with my headphones on listening to our feed.

I totally agree that we have the best announcers in the business. Their love for Wofford comes through in every broadcast.

@WocoMouth - Yes all home Wofford football games, and majority of remaining conference games will be on ESPN3. Then all home conference men's basketball games will be on ESPN3, as well as Women's Basketball conference games.
