well considering both Furman and Michigan State run ground and pound offenses that lean on their defenses I'm not really surprised.

Hanging tough with Michigan State, given the way that both play, is conceivable via scoreboard, but it'll be much harder for us against Ole Miss given the offense they run.

Michael Birdsong was 22 for 34 for 216 yards passing last night for TTU, but Chad Kelly will be behind
a much larger offensive line and has better receivers and a better arm.

Our secondary will be severely tested next week.

Birdsong was no slouch. HE had a cannon and was accurate. He is a nice QB. We were able to dominate TT's line. Much different challenge this week coming. All we can control is our prep and hard work. Next team up on the schedule is who they are. Lets go out and compete and let the chips fall.

I'm happy for Furman. They played a game they can be proud of. It reflects well on their program, our conference and their school. I hope they don't lose again until the Terriers play them. Then, of course, I hope Wofford kicks their teeth down their little purple throats, but that's a conversation for another day.

As for Wofford's game next week, it will play out very differently strategically because of the style of play Ole Miss has. I expect Wofford to play typical Terrier football; play smart and fight hard for all 60 minutes, don't give up on the game or each other and walk off the field with their head's held high. I'm not worried in the least that any of that will not happen. I just hope that they can escape Oxford in healthier shape than they were in when they left Clemson last fall.

Kudos to Bruce Fowler and Co. Puts a whole new complexion on this week's match up with Citadel who was damn lucky to escape Mercer.
