Really strange pairing for William. His playing companions shot 76 and 78. It is really hard to play well with that going on. Hope William goes out and burns it up tomorrow before I can get there for his last few holes.

While I didn't get to watch him much, he actually hit the ball well. He got some horrible breaks on where the ball landed and rolled, and had a terrible pairing. He playing companions we virtually the last two in the field, which is hard to play well with. I still expect a great playoff series for William. The courses will set up well for him. Bethpage Black is a BIG golf course, but it doesn't just favor the bangers. You need to hit it pretty straight as well. He will enter in a great position to last all the way to the finals.

William shot 73 in opening round of Barclays (Bethpage, NY); +2, T69; 7 behind the leader.
Check out his birdie putt on #5 when you scroll down to his name.

Shot -1 today and is +1 for the tournament. In a multiple player tie for 51st. Couple subpar rounds will move him well up the board and give him some confidence for next week.

Salvaged his week with a great bogeyless four under 67. T41 kept him in the hunt in points. Moved down only 2 positions from 16th to 18th headed into the second playoff tournament in Boston. He played well here in the past, so should have good vibes. The game is to get to the finals in Atlanta in four weeks, and he is in great shape to do that. The field for next week is only 100 players with a cut to low 70. Then the last two events have no cut. In following online it appears he really had a great round today. Hope that sets him up for next week, where the first round starts on Friday to give a Labor Day finish.

Looking forward to attending this Saturday's round...Had a brief chat with William while he was on the practice green last year; then, spoke with Sarah after his round. Excited about his chances to make it to the Finals.

If anyone is going, send me a PM.

Paired with Rickie Fowler and Hideki Matsuyama on Friday and Saturday - NICE!

F tee time: 1:16 pm (1st) and S tee time: 8:51 am (10th)

Looking for 2 strong rounds to put him in contention for big payday (i.e. points and $$$)!!

Bad news: did not make the cut @TPC-Boston... Good news: plays in BMW Championship next weekend (Carmel, Indiana)
Projected Fed Ex Cup ranks him in mid 20's (as of today.)
Solid rounds/finish @BMW propel him to Tour Championship in Atlanta (Sept. 22-25)
We spoke as he was preparing to leave; disappointed he did not play better; looking ahead to next week. Was very appreciative that my neighbor and I supported him thru the round. Class act... :)
