Thanks for the reports and analysis. From what I am reading two things stick out to me. One, we have really good receivers. Please dear Lord let us throw the ball to them occasionally. Two, three QBs. One can run, one can throw and the other a dual threat. Please dear Lord let's not have another QB carousel like we did last year. I'm not opposed to a two QB system but last year was a bit of joke IMO. Carry on.

Not to add your paranoia and frustration (no matter how well deserved it may be) but we have another extremely capable QB coming into the fold in August.

Is that carnival music I hear in the distance?

Good point Ruckus. But on the flip side he is a Fr and will have a very short period of time to learn the offense. Or would he be allowed to study it over the summer ? In other words is there an NCAA regulation somewhere that says incoming Fr are not allowed to learn the playbook before they are officially enrolled ?? But even if he would be allowed to do that he would still be at a big disadvantage. And what is the possibility that Neuman will be red shirted ? Lot of unknowns here. But it is a good situation because we have three good QBs with experience and one very talented one that has not even started and has four years yet to play.

No restrictions on learning schemes/playbook as long as no sessions with coaches until August practice starts. In other words, he would have to do it on his own (although he could workout and skel with teammates).
My guess it's a 50/50 proposition whether Newman RSs. I think that RS makes the most sense given the 3 QBs who all can play. However, I could see Newman coming in and impressing the coaches enough where they don't RS him and he has packages of plays to run in situations. And we never know about injuries which might prompt us needing him dressed and ready.
We almost had that last year after Jacks got hurt v Mercer and Butler got dinged up v UTC. I will tell you that Jacks played the rest of the season injured.

I hope our pass protection has improved. At times over the past two years, this has been a problem. Butler has the poise to wait until the last minute to throw, but Jacks has frequently been pressured and either run for his life, or rushed a pass.

Without improved pass protection, our talented receivers won't catch many balls.

Did anybody go ? Sounds like a good scrimmage even with so many starters out. Does anybody know if the injuries are healing or are they expected to linger indefinitely ? I hope Higbie can come back and play. I would hate to see him sit on the sidelines again. And seems like Ellis Pace is doing well.

3 DLs out today (Curtis, Perlotte and Bryant) along with Butler at QB.
Anybody know if these are serious?

We appear to have an outstanding stable of RB's. The challenge will be to keep them energized and engaged, and playing up to their potential, which includes blocking well. Hopefully catching the occasional pass from the backfield too. Our OL's should also really be excited, with the potential to spring a back for a long gain on any play.
