More good news: TS just tweeted Nick Ward is likely done for the year. Hate that.

I'm obviously one of the more optimistic posters and even after today and it's results. I won't throw in the towel on anything. And I disagree that we are outmanned at every position. We have played 4 road games in the first 6 including 2 FBS opponents. Today we ran into one of the more motivated teams coming off a bye week and having a ring ceremony. Those guys were chomping at the bit and before we could get in the game we shot ourselves in the foot with turnovers and they capitalized.

All of our goals are still in front of us. And the test of a team is in how they can respond to adversity. My son isn't quitting or giving up. And I'm not either. I'll be in Spartanburg this weekend to root hard as hell. Hope you are too.

+1. We learned a lot today. We can still do this thing.

Just noticed Colvin did not play; was he hurt? http://woffordterriers.com/boxscore.asp ... ll&id=3092

Agree LD, 19T, YT, Ruck, et al...

We knew the streak would end some year - very disappointed it was 2015. Time to close the El Cid chapter and be ready for Western. We have 1-game weekly playoffs for the balance of this season.

And our mash unit grows after each game. Any more news on Nick Ward's shoulder? Man, oh man, who would have imagined the key season-ending injuries that we have suffered?? Next man up!

Want to wash this weekends performance from my mind! We are not a good enough team to have a slow start and spot teams 14 point leads, before we get our best 11 on the field at one time. Sorry but I have to question our teams motivation and heart on this one guys. The Citadel players pretty much manhandled and intimidated our defense. We had guys literally running from contact and not setting the edge / filling gaps. We all knew this was going to be a slobber knocker game and we didn't come prepared for an all out fight. In my book D-Line (C-), LB (D), DB (D-)

Offensively there were a few bright spots. R.J had a breakout game and could be a guy to take the tops off defenses in the future. But we still lack that home run threat from the outside skill positions. There were very few running lanes because the citadel played the aggressor role (Which I would love to see our Defense do). We only mustard 170 yrds rushing (117 net yards), which is way off season norm. O-Line (C), QB(C+), RB(C), WR(C+)

Special Teams has become a major concern over the past few weeks. Missed FG's and now PAT's. Our punting avg was a dismal 28 yards, with no punts over 50 yards and no punts inside opponents 20, we also had no touch backs (D-).

We are in the meat of our schedule and the remaining games don't get any easier. Lets make the necessary adjustments and get this ship back on course!

Nick broke his Right Shouldee Blade.
Waiting to hear from the Surgen there is a chance he may not need Surgery.
I'm at the airport in Dallas heading that way.

Great article, and high praise from Coach and QB. Looking forward to seeing him continue to excel and improve.

Video is up.

It just was not our turn to win this week. Optimistic about the WCU game, and our recent home game success.

Not our "turn" to win? Forgive me, but I wasn't aware that we had to take turns winning. This is football, not a child's game of hopscotch. We don't take turns. You are supposed to go out, impose your will, and take the win. The Citadel did just that. Just as we did the previous 16 times before.

When we win 16 straight, but the other team is talented and hugely incentivized to change that, and we give up momentum early, odds are we are going to lose. It happened, but we should not read too much doom into one loss, but rather start better this week, at home, play hard and smart, minimize mistakes, and get the W. We need to win the next five; that has been true from day one.

The last week has been disheartening, but Wofford teams have had unexplained bad spells in the past. Including a few embrassing losses by decent teams to fired-up ASU and GSU squads.

The breakthrough 2202 team which beat GSU in Statesboro and ASU in Boone was taken to overtime at home by a very bad Chattanooga team and lost to an equally bad VMI team, but was able to rebound and was one minute away from a SoCon championship. This season is not lost.

What is concerning is that this may become our third disappointing season in a row, a rarity in the Mike Ayers era.

We got our butts kicked by a very motivated team. The campus was electric, the moment we hit campus for the game I knew if we give them anything at the start and give them confidence we are going to be in for a long day. No phase was even alright and the injuries just kept coming. Without Nick Colvin at all, and losing Nick Ward, off a very beat up team didn't help our cause.

19, RJ played great! That catch he made on the sideline falling down, was outstanding. Evan threw a duck, lol, and with RJ getting pushed he still managed to push back and catch it. Live was even more impressive than what you saw on tv, I didn't think there was any chance he'd catch it when the ball was in the air.
