That's great for Luke. Congratulations to him. It's also good for Wofford baseball to have a junior pitcher drafted so high. Good, but also bad. We now lose a key cog in our starting rotation on an already thin pitching staff. I guess such is the price of success. Hopefully a freshman can come in and help fill the void.
Right now the Phightin' Phils are a mess! At least they still have the Phanatic (love that guy). By maybe Luke is a guy that can help turn it around for them. Or maybe Luke ends up getting traded to another organization and he helps them (happens all the time), Anyway, Philly has their low Class A team, the Lakewood (NJ) Blue Claws in the Sally League with the Greenville Drive. I'm pretty sure Lakewood is due to play a series in Greenville later this summer. I don't know where Luke will be assigned to, but maybe he'll be with that team and I'll see him pitch professionally in person! I also have the MiLB TV package so I could possibly watch him online as well. Good luck Luke!
