I agree that their move made more sense that Charleston and Elon. Georgia Southern and Appalachian make sense from a football standpoint.
I don't dislike Davidson for their departure, but I do dislike them because of the way they choose to allocate their resources. Focusing on just men's basketball is a sound investment, but at the detriment of everything else. If that's their call, they should have never been allowed back in the SoCon after they were initially kicked out. I just don't care for the arrogance of their fanbase about their success when I see others (Wofford included) trying to be competitive in other sports, too. If Davidson was fielding a scholarship FCS football program, then I'd respect them a whole lot more.
Their move to the A-10 will be good for them so I can't say they made a bad call. They did burn some bridges on the way out the door, but whatever. I will give them credit, they have parlayed one strong run in the tournament into a public relations and financial windfall for themselves. That being said, I was sorry to see them comeback last night.
