JonMoc- congratulations on the call giving UNCG a chance against Chattanooga. I can't imagine anyone else believing that. The tournament will be wild.

Two thoughts on your post, JonMoc; First, why do you say the final shot by Chatty should not have counted? Wasn't it reviewed for 10 minutes before counting? Second- Furman hit FIVE desperation threes (by that I mean shots that would not have been taken in the normal course of play) that somehow went in just to keep them from being blown out. Lots of IF's there. IT easily could have been a 20 point Wofford win, even with Wofford shooting poorly. I know that the score looked close, but rarely does a team make banked in threes and hit from 30 feet when the shot clock is expiring-FIVE TIMES. Strange things happen in basketball-but over and over again?

Good point Boulder. On the other hand, rarely does a team shoot FT's as poorly as Furman did. It was an unusual game.

Trust me, if Wofford has been playing for a socon title (an unclinched one), we would have ran away with that one

Remember that their lineup was different, and their unknown guys played lights out-aided by a bunch of luck. The freshman guard John Davis played his dream game, and showed that he will be a force for them in the future. We probably didn't even have a scouting report for him. Sometimes that is a big deal to a team-you prepare for something you understand and know and then something else shows up. The game was not really in doubt-IMO.

John Davis III has been playing moderately better. They have been looking for him to come on. He got his chance. I'm not sure how there would have been no scouting report on him- he played 27 minutes per game in the previous three games. Admittedly, only with a total of eight points, so his offensive outburst was unexpected. I agree that if the game had mattered to Wofford, they would have won by 20 points. Furman is a decent team at home (sometimes). They played Chattanooga, Mercer, and Wofford all within three points at home. All three of those teams claimed that Furman was lucky to keep it close. At some point, you have to say it wasn't just luck- Furman had a weird knack for hanging around in games against the top tier of teams at home. They beat ETSU and Western Carolina at home as well, the next two teams in the standings. Still think they are the worst team in the league. I did not watch the entire game, but did watch large portions of it, and felt like if Croone had played, who knows? Furman is a funny bunch....you never know what you're going to get. If they put it all together at Asheville, they may pull an upset. They haven't put it all together yet....

Second, I say the shot shouldn't have counted because I saw a freeze frame shot of it and could tell the ball was in his hands with the shot clock expired. No big deal. Game goes to overtime, who knows who wins? Took way too long to review it.
