The Citadel Sat 2/21

Postby woffordgrad94 on Thu Feb 19, 2015 10:14 pm

This is going to be an emotional game. I might even cry. Because this is in all probability the very last game at Wofford for three very fine seniors that have helped lead Wofford to many victories. Yep, Senior Night for Karl Cochran, Lee Skinner and John Swinton. Karl a one of a kind talent or a mid major school, Skinner one of the greatest inspirational leaders ever at Wofford, and Swinton the epitome of an unselfish team guy. These guys deserve nothing less than a PACKED HOUSE! And we owe the Bellhops for what happened in Charleston. We have so many reasons to be fired up! I say we clobber the Cadets.

But The Citadel, who won at Furman tonight, has something to play for too. The woud LOVE to sweep us and they also think they still have a chance to earn a touney bye. So we have to bring it 40 minutes!

Spencer collins is a junior. Lee Skinner is a senior. Also, it is a black out game.

D'oh! I don't know why I typed Spencer there instead of Lee. Fixed it.

Since we're on the topic of an emotional last home game, I don't see any reason why not to also turn Timmons into a home Game. We oughta sell Timmons out. Keep it mind and try to spread the word when the time comes. Are we allowed to sing our Wofford College Alma Mater inside Timmons at the end of the game?

It may be worth it to be there for the fight when we crowd their floor to sing our alma mater!

Seems like I got an email from Thom Henson about a Takeover Timmons initiative he was working on. Anybody else get it?

Students are going to try to do something. WAR sending at least one or 2 buses and there's an initiative to get people to drive (but I don't know how successful that'll be)

Either way Furman kinda sucks this year and their student participation will not be as good as ours I don't think.

I plan to be there with a group of Wofford friends. We went last year and loved every second of the blow-out!

Garcia may be the key down the stretch. I keep on thinking that his injuries may be a big reason for the inconsistency this year. If he's back at 100%, I think Wofford is an improved team over what we've seen for a lot of conference play....

I agree. Most people do not realize how fragile he was for weeks, and what a courageous effort was required from him during that period. He is really a fine kid too; had a chance to chat with him a few weeks ago ... extremely humble and dedicated to the team's success; well-spoken, gentle spirit but tenacious competitor.

EG is a short haired dog, plain and simple. Shooting well or not, I'll take him on my team every time.
