CoC 8
Wofford 5
Final

Wofford makes it interesting in the 9th bringing the winning run to the plate.

This 0-4 conference start is demoralizing but it looks like we're close
to being a good team. We need to win a couple to gain some confi-
dence.

Final, in steady rain, for game 3 - CofC 21, Wofford 9.

Be thankful we weren't playing South Carolina today. An 11- run 2nd, and a 7-run 4th. After that, it was just whether it would be rain-shortened or not.

At least we scored some runs- at the end of the fifth inning, it was 20-2.

Oh well. It's not the end of the world. Western beat Citadel 18-3 and
ASU swept Furman. On a positive note, we played the best team in
the conference and did not get swept.

I said a couple of weeks ago that if we could take at least one from CofC, one from El Cid, and two from Davidson, we might be in shape to finish out this year much better than we have in the past.

I'll stick by that, at least so far.

Gold & Black, I think your goals are reasonable. I just hope we can
qualify for the SoCon tournament which I love to attend.

As of last year, everyone "qualifies" for the SoCon tournament now. The bottom 4 teams have what amounts to a play-in game to get in. You pretty much have to finish in the top 6 to have a realistic chance of winning it since the bottom 4 use a up a starter to get in. I would love to see the Terriers finish 6th.

Thanks for the info. It's a great atmosphere. I'll be there, even if we
are one and out.
