Terriers 3 Longwood 1

Well-pitched game by Redwine. Let's hope this is a sign of things to come.

Terriers 2 Longwood 6

Bullpen looks suspect without Melton. Maybe tomorrow.

Player did get hit a bit from looking at the box score. But when you only get four hits...it's tough to win.

Good luck on Sunday! Do the SoCon proud!!

Here we go again.

P Jesse Cole- torn rotator cup -- out indefinitely

P Charles Vartanian- broken foot- hurt in a training exercise -- out
3 to 4 weeks

Does this sound familiar?

20-37 last year. The question this year is can they win 20 games? Offensively, I think they're better. Defensively, I think they're better. Pitching, looks to be worse unless Vartanian can go.

the start of a long season

This season looks to be just like the past 5 seasons. Something needs to change.

If he's torn his rotator cuff, he's out for the year. If he strained his rotator cuff, he could be back in four to six weeks.

Vartanian will be out 4 to 6 weeks, pending clearance from his personal physician. He was injured during an exercise that makes no sense. Coach Brickman had the Pitchers indoors because of inclement weather on Thursday, Feb 1st, just two days before the season opener hopping on one foot up and down the bleacher steps. We're fortunate that there was only one player hurt. The good news is his arm is just fine!

That hopping up and down on one foot thing really helps for what sport?

dogfan,

Fancy running into you here! LOL

It's plyometrics. The purpose is to develope explosive power.

The Bulldogs do them to in their fall conditioning program after fall practice is over. They go up and down the steps at Johnson C. Hagood stadium carrying a 50 lb. plate. According to the boys, it's loads of fun!

Sounds like it!

But, it probably does help. I could make a S&C comment here, but will refrain.
