"The Terriers stayed alive for a spot in the Southern Conference tournament until the final day of the regular season but were eliminated in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday at home against Appalachian State as they were knocked around, 13-4."

"Wofford has never had a winning record in the Southern Conference, the best effort coming in a 14-16 season in 2002."

"The Citadel (22-6 league) is the top seed for the tournament, followed by the College of Charleston, Georgia Southern, Elon, Samford, Western Carolina, Appalachian State and Furman (11-19). Wofford (9-20), UNC Greensboro (7-23) and Davidson (5-24) are the three left out."
"There are things that you value and things that you will fight for. That is what today's all about. We fight for that short-haired dog and that name across your chest." Mike Ayers

I know the damage was already done, but Brandon Yarusi came into the game in the 2nd inning Saturday and pitched 6 innings without allowing an earned run. It was one of the few highlights for the Terriers in the series.

Another highlight was senior outfielder Carson Turner getting his first collegiate start and going 4 for 5!
