I went down to Chapel Hill tonight and saw the Lady Terriers play the 3rd ranked Tar Heels. As expected, they got waxed something like 97-44. Shooting was atrocious in the first half but improved in the second. However, there were some good signs. Little Natalie Gramblin can handle and shoot the ball, and she is a scrapper. Mahogany ("Mo") Williams, soph. center, is already the best big player the ladies have ever had. She was the freshman of the year in the SoCon last year. Needs to work on her fouling, patience, and footwork, but she is strong, tough and has a good touch; she has the ability to lift everyone up with her.
There are some other talented players. Hopefully they can meld together into a good team. At times they were sort of going through the motions, but so were the Heels; the conclusion was foregone. They lose three seniors so will need the influx of talent signed for next year. Good luck ladies.
