By chance I was flipping through the Feb. 2009 Reader's Digest today and came upon an excellent article by President Dunlap, describing his relationship with and admiration for Sandor Teszler, for whom the college's library is named. It is quite a story. Teszler, a Jewish immigrant who (with his family) was almost done in by Hitler, died at 97, after a very successful textile career in Europe and Spartanburg. He audited about every course in the college's curriculum after his "retirement".
