As I recall the food was edible but not much more than than that. Especially the dregs and warmed over left overs waiting at 6:30 or 7:00 after a 3 and a half hour football practice when the coaches had to leave practice to call Bill May to ask to keep it open for us. I ate so much Captain Crunch peanut butter cereal I still can't look at a box now without shivering. Thank god for Wades and Mr. Gatti's.
When they finally opened the student union for lunch and allowed the cook there to do lunch, it was actually very good and like home cooking. But you had to be in line at 11:20 because by quarter to 12:00 they were out. Best meal of the day was breakfast. Times have certainly changed for the better.

What was the guy in the Bill May Cafe that used to bring around the NCAA BBall tournament game card? I remember him telling us "just use a nickname...the coaches won't ever know..."

I was always too darn scared of Coach Ayers to gamble...but he was like clockwork.

Captain Crunch...I used to frequent the Cocoa Puffs.

Zack's was awesome at lunch - remember hustlin' down the hill to get in line. Some awesome fries.

Dude, that was Ricky...he was a high school football official and Bill may food director. I loved that guy-he single-handedly was resonsible for hiring Slick Chicken Bone (Think Tomahawk chop!) and Lani Yee, the asian sensation at the pasta station!!

Right on. I hadn't thought about Zack's fries in years, but they were pretty darn good.

The WoCo was my 11pm meal along with hot fries. I have not thought about that in years!

What was the name of the snack bar on the bottom floor of Wightman? Loved the Big Ben and fries.
