Dayton 4
Wofford 10
Final

Dayton should be a top 150 RPI team again this year. They've won 30 plus the past 2 years.

Zack Parmer pitched great in his first start(6ip 6hits 2ER). Shane Kirkley with 2 HRs and 4 RBI.

Impressive!

Maybe the questions about the programs leadership and direction raised by myself and others will be proven moot this season. I sure hope so.

Congrats to the players and coaches!

Way to go guys! Let's hope that this is a foreshadowing of things to come this year.

This is encouraging, particularly the pitching. With Cole and Vartanian
out some young arms are going to have to step up and it looks like they
may be Ben Austin and Zack Parmer. If anyone saw these games, I
would love to hear your impression of these two young men.

Looks like, positionwise, we are pretty solid offensively and defensively.
Great start for Kirkley and Brandt.

Not to throw water on the fire, but we swept these guys last year as well. let's hope that we keep up the winning once conf play rolls around. Go Terriers!

Great wins by the team!

I am not a pessimist, but I am a realist. We started last year 15-8, then went the rest of the season, mostly against SoCon competition, at 5-29.

I don't think we'll really know if we're substantially improved over last year until early- to mid-April. Conference play will be our litmus test.

Gold& Black, you are correct about last year's nosedive but we hit the
skids just about the same time three starting pitchers and our shortstop
went down with injuries. We now have that same shortstop back healthy
playing 3B and a transfer at SS who is picked preseason all conference.
Again, the key is pitching. If these young arms can come through, I
predict a winning season.
