Terriers clobbered the Keydets again 15-4 in the opener today then lost a tough disappointing 5-4 game in game 3. Apparently VMI held back their ace pitcher for this game to go against our 3rd starter, basically admitting they couldn’t compete with our top 2 starters. But I guess I have to give them credit for doing so; it was a good bit of coaching strategy as it kept them from being swept...barely. All in all, despite missing a great chance for a sweep, the Terriers had another good weekend of SoCon baseball, winning its third straight series and going to 6-3 overall in the SoCon. We are in great shape as we have excellent pitching depth and the ability to manufacture a lot of runs with our speed and well as some guys that can put the ball out of the park...exactly the kind of team you need to win a conference tourney. Next weekend we travel to ETSU for what will be a very good series against an excellent Bucs team. Stay tuned, a lot of baseball excitement is ahead!
