Nearly a tragedy for Furman. They left after their game on Sunday with VMI and a tire on the front of their bus blew out. Somehow no one was hurt. Bus driver is a hero. https://twitter.com/WoffordBaseball/sta ... 1335090177

Thanks ld. could not agree with you more. They are our rivals but that has no bearing on a tragedy or nearly one. Of what I read about the incident, they came within a hair in several ways of turning the bus on its side or rolling down an incline. Not just one time but several and if that had happened it would have been a tragedy and a bad one at that. Glad they are ok and no one was hurt.

Lost a real tough one today, at UNCC by one in bottom of 14th. With a three run lead and two out in bottom of ninth, we gave up a doggone 3-run HR!

That was a beautifully pitched game by both starters. Our guys just kept grinding and grinding, and finally got it done in the bottom of the ninth. Great game to watch on the net.

Wow! Of the 124 pitches that Adam Scott threw, 93 were for strikes. That is impeccable control...Greg Maddux like! What a masterful performance...it is very good that we were able to push across a couple of runs in the last inning to make him the winner he deserved to be and not a hard luck loser. I am pretty sure that the UNCG starter Matt Frisbee (love that name) will be a future MLB draft pick...Adam Scott deserves a long hard look from the pros too and I think that he too will get the call considering the year’s he’s had this year.

+1. What a game. UNCG gracious in defeat. http://www.uncgspartans.com/ViewArticle ... =211713704

We have a lot of seniors contributing to our success. Hopefully we have some strong underclassmen who will fill gaps next year.

Quiet as a mouse here again now. Probably because 11.7 scholarship UNCG brought us back to reality very quickly in just 48 short hours. I love this school and I love this team/program...but they are NEVER going to win a SoCon regular season title in their current state. And I think everyone knows what state I’m referring to...it’s been beaten into the ground here in previous years. TI and staff have taken the program about as far as they can and kudos to them for that. And as Lawdog said, we lose many seniors so 2019 might be a step back again for us while programs like UNCG, Samford, and Mercer will just keep rolling along like a runaway freight train.

Four runs in our last bat saves the day vs. PC. http://woffordterriers.com/news/2018/5/ ... er-pc.aspx

WOW. PC is 13-34! Is there ANY sport that the Blue Hose are or have ever been remotely good at in D-1? I think the Hose went D-1 just because Wofford did so, and they are simply 100% in over their head. They should’ve followed the leads of Newberry, LImestone, and Lander and stayed put in D-2!
