Defeated UNCG 12-3...we are on a roll in conference games. That's seven SoCon wins in a row! We are now 9-7 in the SoCon, the only record that really matters right now. All of our remaining games are conference games. So it's crunch time. Let's stay hot, finish up strong, and take a lot of momentum into Flour Field for the tournament!

UNCG got up off the deck and whipped us 6-1 today; rubber game of the series tomorrow afternoon.

I'm shocked baseball was played today given the rain. We lost to the Purple Pukes 2-0. Tough loss. I only saw the ninth inning. We got a couple of guys on and hit a couple of balls hard right at people...bad luck. And the SoCon Digital Network Broadcast was AWFUL! It was painfully obvious that they only had ONE CAMERA there for the game. Wow, is FU that cheap?! I know they have money over there. It definitely made me appreciate Wofford's broadcasts, which are consistently among the best in the conference in every sport.

Split the DH vs. Furples: 1st game: 1-5 them; 2nd game: 10-5 us

Another 30-victory campaign this season. Good stuff; yet, "would of/could of" impacted additional wins.

Play Western Carolina on Wednesday @4pm in first round of SoCon Tourney. Wofford is #7 seed and Western is #2. Terriers are due for a repeat of the 2007 tourney win and NCAA playoffs run. Get 'em...

Yep, definitely a bit of a disappointing SoCon campaign this year with the seventh place finish and a feeling of woulda coulda shoulda. But hey. That's all over now. A new season begins at beautiful Flour Field. We have a shot to win this tournament...the talent is certainly there; we just need to get on a roll with both our pitching and our hitting. We got swept by WCU in the regular season, but that doesn't matter at this point...what a great time for revenge and redemption against the Catamounts to start a tourney run! GO DOGS!

All conference. Not bad, but surprised Stillman did not make either first team ... he was tough this year; and too bad we had none on all-freshman team. http://woffordterriers.com/news/2016/5/ ... onors.aspx
We really need a strong recruiting class this year.

Say it isn't so...gave up 4 runs in bottom of 9th to lose. Bounce back today; otherwise, season is over with a loss.
From GoUpstate:

Todd's tweet:

That was pretty close ball four. Stillman wanted it. Had words with home-plate umpire. https://twitter.com/SoConSports/status/ ... 0618299393

Hard to understand how you leave your closer in after he gives up three runs and then walks in the tying run. At some point you have to try to let the rest of the team win it also.

I think it is time to seriously consider weather or not the future employment of Coach I at Wofford is really in this baseball program's best interests. And I'd vote in the negative. The guy's been here almost ten years now with no regional appearances to his credit. And he totally blew the WCU game and also pretty much the whole tourney with his idiotic handling of Will Stillman. A typical volunteer little league manager would have known better than to leave Will in so long. I feel bad for the kids, especially Will, whose college career was allowed to end on such a downer. A win against WCU and this thing might have gone completely different. The underachievement of this team this year, who was picked to finish third yet could only manage a .500 conference record, a seventh place finish and an 0 and 2 and a barbeque showing at the conference tourney, is a bitter pill to swallow. And I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that Tim Wallace would have won that WCU game. Sorry if my post seems too harsh; I am just a little disgusted right now because it is just so blatantly obvious this situation was totally mismanaged and it in effect ended the season. I'm also not abashed to admit that that I, like quite a few other Wofford alumni, still think about what the team might look like with Wallace as skipper. But alas, we'll never know because there's no way Tim would ever take this job now after how he was handled during the imfamous "national seach" for a new coach.

I'm sure Will will be drafted again and get a chance to play professional baseball though. Best wishes to him and to the rest of the seniors on the team whose Wofford careers ended today.
