Ruck,

Not sure we've had a #1 play on ESPN; but, Tim Johnson's dunk in the SoCon Tourney Championship (maybe the 2nd time we made it to the NCAA Tourney) was featured at #5 or #6. Interestingly, Waln's steal went from #1 to #3 on the list during the overnight hours. Damn ESPN moderators in LA!

Thanks for posting the clip, WG94!

We have the video of it being the #1 Play though. But yes, it did drop to #3.

Third time this Sports Season Wofford has made the top 10:

#1 - Waln Steals Home
#7 - Justin Gordon Alley Oop from Eric Garcia vs The Citadel
#10 - NCAA Record 3FG%

Another victory today, 7-5 over Evansville. The Aces, a strong MVC program that just beat USC Upstate yesterday, came into the game very mindful of our running game, and they stymied it. We had a couple of guys picked off and a couple of caught stealings (though I felt one was a vert questionable call by the ump). So instead, we got a clutch two out grand slam homer from Cody Miller in the third inning to provide the decisive blow. We got great starting pitching from Adam Scott and after the Aces closed the gap to two with a homer, Will Stillman came in and slammed the door! Also impressive was the infield and outfield defense. Nice plays all day long and NO ERRORS...by either team. It was a very well played game by both sides. Baeball has been FUN this year! I'll miss these games when I have to go north for work next weekend for 2-3 months.

6-0 ain't something to be scoffed at.
I'll say it again: I like this team.
Thanks for the post, 94.

Wofford 8, UNC-Asheville 5: the difference in this game was errors/mistakes/misplays. We capitalized on several of theirs. Other than one play where an outfielder airmailed the cutoff man, we really didn't have any. Zero errors yet again! This team is fundamentally very sound. Next week we hit the road for a game at Clemson Tuesday and go across Hearon Circle for a rematch with USC-Upstate Wednesday before playing a four game home series with Ohio U. next weekend. Go Dogs! 7-0!

The team suffered its first loss today, getting blanked at Clemson 7-0. The Terriers only mustered five hits. I didn't come into this game with very high expectations of winning, but I'll admit that I'm disappointed that we couldn't score even one run against the midweek pitchers for Clemson. I said in my season preview that offense might be our main Achillies heel. Hopefully we can bounce back tomorrow and this weekend. Our hitters need to get good at bats before conference play starts.

2nd loss of season today: 2-0 vs. USC Upstate
Todd tweeted it was quite a pitcher's battle.

Dogs are back on the winning track today with a 5-3 win over Ohio University. Playing well during weekend games is what is most important...that's win the guys that will be playing and pitching in conference games get the most action.

Split the DH yesterday with Ohio U and won the series finale today 6-5 in 11. Walk off wild pitch with bases loaded.
Now 9-3 on the season.

I'm going to go ahead and say it- this team lacks the offense to seriously challenge for the Southern Conference championship.

Wofford 1
USC 7

This team's make up appears to be on par with the 2015 squad - a group that won 30 games. Look forward to seeing the Terriers push for a SoCon title.

94 - they're 10-1 on weekends against several 2015 Regional teams. You realize the SoCon is won on the weekends right? 3 Legit SoCon starters - a legit Closer and some quality arms in middle relief. Pitching/defense wins championships (UCLA won the CWS with a .227 batting average.)

Not saying that they're going to win; but to say they can't challenge with that staff is a little much no?
