We were beaten by PC 11-6. I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses for losing, but the fact is we had just played four nine inning games against Harvard over the weekend and our pitchers had a be a bit tired and worn thin.

The Terriers take the first of a three game series with Gardner-Webb 5-2. Matt Milburn went the distance for the win, backed up by a balanced Terrier offensive attack. The Terriers are now 10-4 on the season. Wofford and G-W play tomorrow at G-W and Sunday back at King Field.

Terriers complete a three game sweep of G-W with a 12-1 rout. Freshman Adam Scott turned in another great outing, going 7 innings and allowing one run and five hits for the win. Offensively, the Terriers had a balanced attack and scored at least one run in every inning, including Matthew Pelt's 2 run homer, his third of the season. Perhaps I should hold my tongue as no conference games have been played yet, but this definitely looks like our best team of the D-1 era. Everyone is contributing. We have shown both speed and power on offense and have three solid weekend starters in Milburn, Leftwich, and Scott. We could surprise a few folks. Our record now stands at 12-4.

Disappointing loss. I have never equated Savannah State with any kind of success in any sport. But it's only one game. If we keep winning on weekends we'll be just fine.

This team has certainly started off this season very strong. Hope we can have a solid SOCON season. Does anyone know whether the number of baseball schollies has increased? Just curious. Keep up the great work Coach I and Co.

I'm not sure how much this really means but Wofford and Mercer, picked to finish near the top of the SoCon, have both played a four game series with Harvard. We went 2-2, losing two very well pitched games and giving up only 7 total runs (9-2, 1-2, 1-3, 7-0). Mercer lost three of four to them (6-10,1-6, 7-8, 7-1). The way I see it, our pitching will keep us in most conference games this year, giving us a chance to have a very good record in the SoCon. Our first conference series is this weekend against VMI at King Field (after two midweek games against Coppin State). The Keydets were picked to finish last in the conference. Hopefully we can earn a sweep or at least two of three. Less than that and doubt may start creeping in...

Earned two midweek wins over Coppin State, 13-4 and 12-7. The Terriers will go into conference play against VMI this weekend with an 18-5 record, their best start in the D-1 era.
