We are now 17-23 overall, only 6 wins shy of last season's win total and we have taken series from two pretty good teams in WCU and Elon. I think the pitching has really tuned a corner this year...it has kept us in most games. Good luck to the team against ASU. If our pitching continues to shine and we can get some timely hits, we could very well take this seies.

Ouch...swept in a doubleheader, both one-run games 3-2 and 7-6. This hurts...sometimes I think it's easier just to lose 10-0 than to get beat in heartbreaking fashion and ask yourself a bunch of what ifs. The team is playing better, no doubt, but unfortunately a loss is a loss, be it by one run or ten, and we suffered two conference defeats today that will make it that much harder to get a tournament spot- disappointing as I was really filled with hope that we'd win this series. Now we just have to try to salvage a game and avoid a sweep tomorrow.

Appalachian is in number 1 place in the SOCON however we could/ should have won two of three of the series. Pitching was on but we could not score the one or two runs to win a game. Looking back on the last four years Wofford has had one of the better teams , top to bottom, but it looks like we will end up no better than we were four years ago. Players have been better their freshman years than latter years. Every year there is some new technique to hitting, which doesn't seem to work . It is not lack of talent but lack of coaching and the sucking of the life out of the players and the game. The coaching inconsistency does little to build confidence and respect from the players. They deserve better.
