Vandy will of course be tough but we should take Harvard. At least I hope so. Anyone know anything about them other than Ivy League baseball is generally pretty weak?

They are 0-4 this year, having been swept in four fairly close games against Jax State. They actually play four here, on the 11th, 12th and 13th...on the 12th it is a doubleheader.

A few years ago Harvard was quite good. In fact I think they nearly won their regional but don't know how they have fared in recent years.

So far the defense has been awful against Vandy. We have no chance at beating even an average team while making 4 errors, let alone a team like Vandy. Hopefully the defense will be better this weekend.

Final 12-1. Vandy is no. 2 in the land...we would have needed to play a perfect game to beat them. http://athletics.wofford.edu/news/2011/ ... 10748.aspx

Agreed. But 4 errors? An error filled game now and then is one thing but regularly committing multiple errors in a game is another and it indicates to me a larger problem of either we aren't working hard enough on our defense (both individual and team) or we are recruiting guys who can't handle a glove. This is the 2nd game I know of where we have committed multiple errors (3 or more) and we have only played a few games. It's hard to beat good teams when you can't take outs when given to you. Also hurts your pitching staff because then they feel like they have to get strike outs.
Hope we get better.

Johnd7, I think you need to proof read next time. I'm not really sure what your trying to say here.

sorry you are right, they don't get good jumps on the balls and they very rarely dive for any and last night they looked slow and did not dive for any balls.

Wow, 2 homers for Mac Doyle in each game of the DH Saturday...that's impressive against any team.

It will be interesting to see how the team does next weekend in their first conference games against Furman...pitching so far looks improved, though competition admittedly hasn't always been the best.
