Weekend Sweep.

Just went back in time to see when the last time the Terriers swept a series and found something interesting, last time they swept a series was 2007. They swept two series early in the season, but the most important series they swept was the SoCon Championship. A repeat this year would be nice. If they just keep playing well and staying in games...who knows. Go Terriers!

Not to be negative, but I think the more pertinent question may be how many weekend series have we BEEN swept in. While winning all 3 games would be great, we have to figure out a way to win 2 of 3. We do that consistently and we have made real progress.
Tough 6-5 loss to Dayton yesterday BTW. Sounded like they had one big inning (errors?) and we couldn't answer. Left Diamodoros and Doyle stranded to end game in bottom of ninth. Dayton is not a bad club it appears.

Ruckus,

You asked for it. Here it is. In '08, they were swept in 5 series. (Minimum 3 games). In '09, they were swept in 4 series and in '10 they were swept in 4 series.

After sweeping Harvard this weekend and being 11-5 on the year, this has been a pretty good start. It could be the new bats or better pitching or a combination of the two, but during the last three years, they were 11-3 on 3/14/08, 11-11 on 3/31/09 and 11-21 on 4/14/10.

Now, it's on to conference play, let's hope that they can keep it up. Go Terriers!

Pretty good start. Need to cut down on the Es and baserunning goofs. But otherwise pretty solid.
Now, it's the one series that matters the most to some of us. FU is a program we should really have success against but for some reason we haven't. Time to change that and go to 13-5.

Good to see Wofford get a sweep, even if it's against a terrible Harvard team. Wofford has a decent record going into conference play, but I wouldn't read too much into it. The schedule was pretty easy early, which it should be in order to gain confidence and get ready for conference play. We beat most of the teams we should have, but struggled on a few occasions. It looks like the hitting and pitching might be better this year, but the defense is the same as years past. If this team has any chance in the conference, they'll have to make the routine plays every game. More that a couple of games this year have been lost due to horrible defense. Hopefully the defense will be more consistent in conference play, and not take games off.
