Play Ball

The season is only 3 days away and the weather couldn't be better. What are the thoughts on this years team? We now are a little more experienced. Looks as if we could start 2 sophomores, 4 juniors, and 2 seniors. We all know that pitching holds the key to improvement this year. How has spring practice gone? Do we have any freshmen who can legitimately contribute? Would love to hear what everyone thinks.

Word I have heard is that we should be significantly better, especially on the mound.

Thanks lawdog. Excellent way to start the season. I read where Roney hit a grand slam.

Wofford 7 Iona 1, bottom of the 6th. Collins is pitching well and we have 10 hits.

Wofford wins the first game, 7-3. Feisal is catching the 2nd game. I have heard he is a very good defensive catcher.

Down 4-8 to Geo Mason in top of 9th

Terriers had bases loaded with 1 out in bottom of 8th. Mac Doyle grounded into DP to end the inning.

It looks like Wofford is still plagued by the same problems of years past. The culprits being key errors and questionable personnel changes, which put unnecessary pressure on our players to succeed. I think we definitely can compete this year, but only if this coaching staff is able to bring out the best in each player on the team. Bringing in talent has never been the problem, it's coaching up the players and getting the most out of each one that has lacked. It's early in the season and it's good to see Wofford get a win against Xavier and take care of a poor Iona team. Hopefully Wofford can learn form the George Mason game, and not make the same mistakes again.

BG.. bitter biscuits? It is very early in the season and this team is 3-1, so maybe your jumping the gun a little on your analysis? It seems like you have an axe to grind? I look forward to your response. GO TERRIERS!
