Forest City Owls first baseman Konstantine Diamaduros (Wofford) finished the 2009 regular season with the highest batting average in the CPL, becoming the first player in the Spartanburg and Forest City franchise to win the batting title.

Diamaduros, a 6-1, 190-pound freshman from Spartanburg, SC finished with a .376 average, edging the Outer Banks' Dylan Petrich on the final day of the season. Diamaduros, who entered play Tuesday a point behind Petrich, went 2-for-4 to jump ahead by two points.

Diamaduros had one of the best seasons amongst players in the league. In 49 games played and 46 starts, he finished with 37 runs scored, 67 hits, 11 doubles, five triples, four home runs, 45 RBIs, 100 total bases, a .562 slugging percentage, and .437 on-base percentage. He finished the season tied for first in the CPL in triples, second in RBIs, tied for second in hits and total bases, third in slugging percentage, and fourth in on-base percentage.

Diamaduros led Forest City with 22 multi-hit and 13 multi-RBI games. He had the longest hitting streak on the team at 17 games earlier this season. Diamaduros was named CPL Rawlings Co-Hitter of the Week in week three (June 15- June 21) and CPL Rawlings Hitter of the Week in week eight (July 22-July 26).

In his freshman season at Wofford, Diamaduros hit .299 with seven home runs and 50 RBIs.
