A HS player is allowed to sign with a college after the signing period is over, provided of course there is a scholly available.

Then what is the point of a signing period?

That is a good question, Terrierfan06. I really don't know. But it seems that guys sometimes select a college somewhat after the official signing period is over. Maybe it's just organized that way so that things are naturally funneled to some sort of conclusion -- the schools and players both making decisions. But if there are folks left undecided, they can still make a move. Again, I'm not sure.

Any possibilities with the transfer you mentioned before, or has that ship sailed (in a different direction)? Sounded like an intriguing possibility.

In any case, excited about the players we have signed -- I saw where Morgan Safford only recently turned 17 this year; might still be really developing -- and the potential of our redshirted freshmen.

Quite curious, TF06. Hope he is for '19. In the meantime, Safford and Richardson are official. https://woffordterriers.com/news/2019/5 ... class.aspx

Paperwork just has to process, likely announcement next week. Will be eligible next year with 3 remaining

Dont know much about him other than seems he can get stronger and likely at worst provides depth and size this year which we needed. Guessing strength coach and our ability to coach can make him an impact guy before leaving

I just watched this kid's highlights. He looks like he can play now. Great get for Wofford this late in the cycle. You can't teach 7'1".

Very pleased to have this young man with us. Has good skills and is smart; hard worker/adept learner with good attitude. Strong upside.

Wow, not hard to like what you see and read. If he works hard on and off the basketball court he will be a great addition and it should be a wonderful fit for him.

Wow, looks like a potentially great find. We really needed another big man. Hopefully he can give us some quality minutes off the bench right away. We can work on his strength in the weight room.

The new kid from Junior College apparently is a straight A student as well. He should be a great fit academically and athletically

One scholly left? I go for another big man. We lost three key contributors, two to graduation and one to Benedict Arnold Young. And you can’t have too many quality big guys. Our size was a big reason we ran the table in the SoCon last season
