We used zone more this year than I can ever recall, even though it was not that much. Look at some teams in the tourney playing zone like Duke, Syracuse and others. Now they have some serious length to play it as well as some big shot blockers down low but I think it could work for us a lot more. We have trouble preventing penetration from quick guards and the zone would slow that down somewhat as long as you can guard the high screen at the top of the key. if nothing else, it will save or shooters' legs (Magee in particular) from having to guard other shooters around multiple screens all day long.

If you watch zone teams like Syracuse, Duke, or Temple back in the day, they play it with a lot of man to man principles. Their zones are really just loose man with lots off ball/ball screen help. Zones are tough to rebound out of and obviously Mike Young has little faith in our ability to execute in it. Plus teams that shoot it well should attack them well.

Wish there was a listing of each of the coaches. There are a few still playing somewhere that probably will become coaches as well. Pretty impressive.

Just found out Mark Prosser, former Wofford assistant, has recently become the coach at WCU. Nice guy, good coach. Mike Young has helped nurture some talent in the basketball world.
