Tough loss 98-94. . CMU shot lights out and we had some defensive lapses late after leading most of the way. Fletch and Cam are tough! 37 for Fletch and 22 for Cam. Really good core group coming back. The future is bright.

The team needs to work on their defense. Could not defend the three point shot - a fundamental weakness.

This team has a ton of talent returning no doubt. We are just fine offensively. But we have issues on the defensive end and we need to spend our practice time shoring up our defense. For all the promise fans see in next season, we will not win the conference or make the NCAAs with Citadelesque defensive performances. Remember, our four tournament teams all had DEFENSE as their calling card.

Did the CIT and coaches have some kind of agreement not to play defense? That was bizarre. It was like some kind of all star exhibition. The teams played 40 minutes and scored nearly 100 each. If it were an NBA game, playing 48 minutes, this would have been a game with a final score of something like 125-120. That's ridiculous.

This year we were comparable to past socon champ wofford teams overall. But defense is what made us not a championship team.

The problem in prior Wofford teams was that we lacked the ability to light up the scoreboard but we played solid defense. this year our defense was sporadic, especially with Brooks out (we played better with him in), but we had the big play offense to match with anyone. That's why we beat UNC but struggled against the top tier of the socon. No Wofford team was going to defend UNC great but unlike prior teams we could score.

In my opinion, we're one great defender at the guard from being an NCAA tourney team. My guess is Donovan Theme-Love (he had 4 fouls yesterday). We have to hope the guards continue to develop on defense though

You can’t coach or scheme great athleticism, heighth, strength or quicks/speed. Either you have themor you don’t. We don’t have them (no matter how hard our guys play). Skilled, yes; smart, yes, dsicilpline, yes; athletic, not so much. Therein lies our defensive deficiencies.
