@ The Citadel, 2/1 6PM

This one concerns me for a multitude of reasons. The Citadel’s style of play is well known, and Mike Young does not care for it very much and for good reason. McAlister Field House can be a very difficult and hostile environment when all the cadets are there. You never seem to know what to expect from the refs against the Citadel- what is a foul and what isn’t? We have played quite a bit lately and we may be subjet to fatigue, especially given the helter skelter pace we will play at in this game. And you know The Citadel has great disdain for us, wants to knock us off in the worst way, and will really come after us with their best shot. There is not a lot of love lost between these two teams; there never has been! The Citadel will start pressing us when we get off the bus, and we’ve struggled at times against the press. Cam Jackson may or may not be back and if he is back, he may contend with some rust. There is a lot to deal with and overcome here. Mike Young was very displeased with the last game against WCU despite the win...he thinks we can give a much better effort. Despite everything I’ve brought up, this remains a very winnable road game if we play well. It is a road game we need to find a way to get against a team in the lower part of the standings. February is going to be a tough month schedule wise...GO TERRIERS!

That 6 o'clock tip gets us another hour to travel to Macon, which will help. Just have to take care of business on this trip and see what plays out in the rest of the league.

MIke Young on his coaches show said Cam Jackson has been released from concussion protocol and will play against The Citadel, though he’s not sure how much he’ll be able to go. “It may be 15 minutes, it may be 20 minutes, we’re just not sure right now...”. But that’s excellent news. Let’s get Cam eased back into things.

I was at the game when Cam was hurt, but didn't see HOW he got hurt. Does anyone know?

He got pushed to the ground several times but he was finally taken out after taking a knee to the head (while on the ground after being pushed there by a Cid player).

It was Chattanooga who did it, not the Citadel.

I was upset by the officiating in that game. The whistle acts as a deterrent, and when not applied consistently that sort of stuff can happen

Terriers up 8 with 10:29 to go. Fletcher having a great game, Stumpe struggling a bit. Cam is inconsistent his first game back. Overall not bad. Need to finish.

I only saw the very end.

I'm not too surprised. Wofford seems to struggle against those teams that make things frenetic. And with Jackson maybe still not full-speed...yeah, I kind of figured this would be a tough one.

But Wofford has to get back on track; can't afford to fall too far behind and get a lousy tourney seed.

Citadel plays with the mindset of foul every play because the refs won't call 'em all. It's a really ugly brand of basketball and when you mix in home-cooking from the officials, it's a tough loss to swallow. Regardless, we're demonstrating that we're a very average team right now. We can hit big shots but what's the point if we're just gonna give up easy makes on the other end. Needs to be a lot of soul-searching in that Terrier lockerroom tonight on whether we're gonna be a championship team or just your everyday four seed that gets bounced early in Asheville. We clearly have the talent to win the SoCon given our OOC victories but it remains TBD whether we can string together 3 games in a row to win it all.

They outrebounded (outhustled) us handily and shot their FTs well. We shot the ball well.
