A great opportunity to bounce back from big disappointment and get the confidence ball rolling again.

It's game day. I suspect the team is still angry about UNCG and will be ready to play. I look forward to being there.

It's also the first day of interim.

There was nothing embarrassing about losing to UNCG at Greensboro-just the way we did it. We've got four straight at home, culminating with Furman a week from Saturday.

Wow, the beginning is scary good for us. I hope we continue to play this way and get some meaningful time for our bench.

At the under 12 TO our bench is outscoring VMI 5-2!

Remember, as bleak as the first half looked for VMI, we were WORSE against UNCG Saturday!

Really nice to see Trey Hollowell get some real quality PT. He looks like he can really help us during the season. How 'bout Stumpe? And Derrick Brooks really puts energy on the floor. If we doubted it before, we really have a great point guard for the future. He reminds me so much of what Eric Garcia gave us when he took over about this time in his freshman year. Solid, not flashy, but takes care of the ball!

92-53. Most starters played about 20 minutes. Hope to be fresher for Cid, which is losing to the Furples tonight. Brooks and Stumpe really stepping up with big contributions.

We have to win our conference home games. Great job emphatically taking care of business against a team we should beat. The key is not just that we won, it is how we won it. Having lots of guy play and saving minutes for our starters was huge. A great night all around. Everyone contributed.

Fletch was Fletch... again. He was shooting it really well and could have easily scored 30-40 points tonight had they not pulled him half way thru the 2nd. Glad they did though. Cam had a nice 2nd half, too....that dunk off the drop step was ferocious! Nice to see some of our guys of the future get some PT, too.

"And Derrick Brooks really puts energy on the floor. If we doubted it before, we really have a great point guard for the future...."

Are you meaning Murphy? Isn't Brooks a senior?

Anyway, Wofford really took care of things tonight. Tremendous shooting by Magee. Jackson was powerful in the paint. Stumpe shot well. I thought Hollowell looked impressive.

Overall good performance by T-Dogs.

Interesting comments by the coach after the game regarding Hollowell. Said he needs to learn to practice hard and give effort everyday. Yes, I was referring to Storm Murphy as the point guard. So far Derrick Brooks is playing more of an off guard role and getting us penetration and defense.

The interesting thing about Storm is the comparison with Eric Garcia. I am going completely from memory, but it seems that when Eric took over at the point right at the beginning of the conference season he did not score a lot, but was really solid in distributing the ball and had a solid assist to turnover ratio. As the years went by he shot it more and by his senior year was a scorer and still did a great job controlling the offense. Storm has already shown he can shoot in pressure situations if left open, and he is just solid. You really couldn't ask for more from a freshman point guard.

+1. His game against UNC's Joel Berry, for a freshman, was remarkable. He reminds me some of Brad Loesing too.
