Some guys just never make the successful transition from high school to college. It is why recruiting can be so unpredictable.

I know I was quite hard on the team and maybe even inappropriate to some in saying I was very disappointed in the game Friday and predicting a bad record this season. But just for the record, basketball is my favorite sport and that is why i just HATE the thought that we are probably a year away from truly being competitive for the conference title. Some of you say “come to the beautiful new arena and enjoy the games anyway” but that’s hard for me to do when we’re losing the games. That’s just me and since I am 45 years old I doubt I will ever change. As Popeye the Sailor said “I yam who I yam and that’s what I yam”.

We are young. We will get in rhythm in the middle of the season and go on a run and come back next year picked to win the socon.

That's the schedule and the pattern of years past

Agreed. We have some players who are special, and at our level they will excel on many occasions. We have the tallest team Wofford has ever had, and we have some sharpshooters as well. Can we put it all together and develop a point guard? That's the question.

Ugh! The South Carolina team that came in our house and dominated us just lost in Myrtle Beach to Illinois State. Not the University of Illinois, but Illinois STATE (who was spanked by the A-Sun’s Florida Gulf Coast in its only other game prior). All I can say is, it’s early. There’s time for improvement.
