In a tweet from Wofford Basketball, "The Terriers got better tonight in a BIG WAY."

That may be because we apparently just got a commitment from 6-7 Keve Aluma, class of 2017 and highly regarded (3-star?) forward from Maryland.

Not sure all of his offers but from what I have seen Stony Brook and UMES had offered. Has only been playing basketball for 3-4 years.

Matt McClung appears to be an excellent prospect for us. Athletic, fine ball handler, can score; will he D up?

Very impressive especially for a rising junior. Talented. Would fit in great with our recent recruiting classes.

5 star SF Zion Williamson from Spartanburg Day School was on campus today on an unofficial visit.
Has offers from Duke, UNC, Clemson, USC and about a zillion others.
Yes, I said 5 star. Our first ever I feel fairly certain.

Can you imagine a kid like that having the guts to sign with Wofford? It would be an instant game changer, and make Wofford a known basketball power. OK, enough dreaming, but glad he came to visit and humor us.

We offered him Oct. 20. He is a great talent, but we would also have a lot of experienced talent around him and would be a likely top ten team and threat to go far in the tourney. Smart and level headed ... we would be a good fit for him.

Saw where he was going up to NC State on Friday and Duke on Saturday for their fall practice kick off event in Cameron.
We were his first offer BTW. I am sure he was just humoring us out of respect but just being mentioned with NCSU, Duke, UNC, Clemson, etc. is a good thing in and of itself.

Slow your roll a little Lawdog. Yes, he would be a tremendous get, and instantly make us better but Top 10? Not sure about that. Don't think Davidson ever threatened the Top 10 with Steph. Yes, the had a nice Tourney run or two but Top 10 may be a stretch. even with a great group of players already in the fold. But hey...one can dream...... [-o<

You're right Ruck, looks like we offered him during his freshman year.

Big frame, intelligent, good ball handler and shooter. Leaper. http://wspa.com/2016/10/12/spartanburg- ... attention/

Yeah, to put this somewhat into perspective, getting him to commit would be somewhat similar to when CofC got Baru, a high 4 star, to commit about 5 years ago. He was a good player for them, especially on defense, but obviously didn't turn their program around and, honestly, he was never the player that Andrew Goudelock was for them. I don't want to be the wet blanket but I don't see anything coming out of this other than the fact that it's a compliment for him to visit us. He's widely expected to end up at Duke and I honestly couldn't fault him for that decision. Hope he makes the best decision for him.
