Couple of upsets in the SoCon last night: Chatty upset UT in Knoxville and PC clipped Furman. Our turn tonight in Bayou Country. Go Dogs.

Interviews with both men's and women's coaches.

Women lost big to N.C. State in first game but I think they have a good plan and should be better this year.
Ladies play TEN straight on the road in late November-December; brutal.

Confidence builder. We shot 70% for the game(second best ever for Wofford), 68% from three-point line. 34 assists !!! ... fourth most in SoCon history. VIDEO. http://athletics.wofford.edu/news/2016/ ... -wise.aspx

We looked as sharp last night as I have seen us in a while. Played pretty well on D too (for a change).
I am sure the quality of opponent and playing at our place helped but maybe a good omen of things to come.
Cam was assertive on both ends of the floor; and Sawvell and Fletcher shot lights out. Everyone else helped out. JTucker and Love are improving and will help us.

It's always great to win and I agree that we needed a game like Wise to build up some confidence. Normally I hate games like this on the schedule, as I'm not sure Wise could beat the Sigma Nu intermural team, but with our young team I was glad to see Wise come into our place when they did. Now let's see how we do against TCU Saturday. They are a perennial cellar dweller in the Big 12. I would hope we would be able to be competitive with them if not beat them.

What worries me to this point is that we are 3-7, with not a single D1 win. Hope we can change gears when it counts ... sooner not later.

77-66 UTC wins (4th victory in a row vs. Wofford)

Terriers lead 22-11 mid-way thru 1H; but, Chatt went on a 10-0 run to change mo/energy.

Heard Thom/Mark's game stats summary: all favored Chatt, except off-the-bench scoring. Need a quick turnaround/focus for Sat's game vs. Samford.

The Citadel, which beat us in the Benjo by one in OT, got slaughtered at home by 44 by ETSU last night. That ain't good fellas. Certainly not for Citadel and concerns me about our squad.

Our freshmen are really playing well filling in and handling their rolls. We have at least four and maybe more that are factors now and will be in the future. Add that to our sophomores and are really in good shape. Our guys have figured out that if they feed the big guys inside they will work to rebound and feed the guards on the break. This is fun basketball to watch. We tend to get a little trigger happy on the threes, but it is a big part of the offense.

I have said it before and I will say it again: Cam Jackson is the key to us winning or losing. At a big strong athletic skilled 6'8", he should dominate SoCon competition every single time he steps on the floor. When we can isolate him down low forcing teams to double team, we are very very hard to stop. Our offensive lulls came last night when we started jacking up 3s. We have to go inside to out.
We did a very good job on Peterson and the Branch last night. Donovan Love is impressing me more and more. He did a fantastic job on Peterson and spelling Garcia. I love having him and Garcia on the floor at the same time to handle the press. Hoover, while a good shooter, gets manhandled on the press. We need to be stronger in receiving and making passes.
