Most talented team in the conference IMO. Imploding from within. Good team chemistry cannot be underestimated.

Huge bonus for us if that is true. Pryor killed us at Home a couple of weeks ago. We have such a hard time with dribble penetration from quick PGs and McLean is their leading scorer. I have a feeling that McLean will find his way back to the floor unless McCall has more spine than I give him credit for. Will earn a lot of respect from me if he is done for disciplinary reasons.

As the article mentions, this is his second such issue in the second half of the season. I wouldn't be surprised to see him out there on Saturday though, sadly. As others have said, would be huge for us to avoid the buzz saw of a competitive game against UTC and hopefully conserve energy to make a run. Also hoping we won't run into a press heavy team that can fatigue you over a three day tournament, especially since we're a shooting team where leg fatigue can really lower shooting percentages.

What goes on in Chattanooga evidently doesn't stay in Chattanooga...most times these flareups are merely threats to get some discipline. I, too, will be impressed if there are any actions taken, because I don't expect much from Chatty. It's just not in their genes!

To get the #16 seed you have to be a conference champion which is really the biggest thing a team can do in our conference. I'd rather tell a recruit that our program won a championship and earned the right to face off against the best than to tell one that we a year away. The guys we need on our team think they can win every time if you just give them the ball and I don't want to change that. Eric Garcia is a Short Haired Dog through and through. Everybody knows it. Do you really believe that a guy like that would rather lose in the SoCon finals to avoid getting creamed by Kansas? Hell no, guys like that just want a shot and are willing to let the chips fall where they may.

Chatty falls to El Cid tonight. Will be very interesting to see if McLean plays Saturday after their poor performance tonight. UNCG takes out ETSU to win the 1 seed which means a Semifinal matchup against them should we get past Chatty. Tough road to hoe but I actually like our chances.

Sorry, meant tough Row to hoe. What can I say, it's late...

We actually don't have a terrible path to the championship...a depleted Chattanooga team and a UNCG team that we can definitely beat if we play well. That doesn't by any means guarantee we will win and it won't won't be easy, but we have a shot for sure.

Gotta hope El Cid beats Western (tough in Asheville I know) but applying that full court press by Baucom could wear on UNCG's legs. If Western beats Citadel instead, hope their crowd can make it a tough environment against UNCG and maybe they can pull out the stunner. All for naut though if we can't get by UTC.

With our without their full team available we haven't shown any ability to beat Chattanooga. The only focus our team can possibly have is on a way to beat them on Saturday afternoon. Any talk of any other team is ridiculous.

Let me take this opportunity to once again praise our coaches and players. While we may fall short in some areas on the court, character and integrity is not one of them. Proud of who we are as a team of fine young men being led by fine men. We could easily have issues like UTC or build a program from Juco transfers like ETSU, but that's not who we are (nor who many of the teams in the conference are, thankfully). They make it easy for us to support them. While we may grow into new grand arenas, I sincerely hope that aspect of our program (and all of our programs) never changes.
Win or lose in Asheville, I am proud of our guys......now if we can just get back to playing some lock down D.

Amen, Ruckus. I watched the game between ETSU and UNCG on the tube Monday night, and was so thankful that our program is built with the quality people we have in the basketball program.

Totally agree. Our basketball program is first class and is a direct reflection of its head coach and coaching staff. Mike Young is a great basketball coach and we are fortunate he hasn't been lured away by a bigger program. More than that, you will not meet a finer man. You say Mike Young and you immediately think of integrity. He has managed to consistently recruit players with a similar makeup which isn't easy to do. You think of Noah Dahlman, Brad Loesing, Tim Johnson, Lee Skinner, Fletcher McGee....the list goes on. They've all played a part in giving our program a character that is reflective of its coach and staff. It took some years, but Wofford clearly has built a program that all alumni, fans and the Spartanburg community can be very proud of.
