Looks like we will be the 4 seed and play WCU in the first round. I think WCU and ETSU are the 2 hottest teams in the league. We are not coming in with much momentum, but this is doable, just a tough road. Let's play smart, fundamental ball, tough D and efficient O. Go Dogs!

We finished in a third place tie with Furman at 11-7. FU wins the tiebreaker because they beat #1 Chatty once and we didn't. So we aee indeed locked into #4. And yes, #2 ETSU, #5 WCU, as well as current #6 UNCG all come in riding winning streaks (UNCG has one more game with Mercer left tomorrow). Us, Furman and Mercer come in on a down note. Due to their several late season misfortunes, poor Mercer fell all the way to likely being #7 and having to play on the first day against The Citadel, who will tire them out even if they win. I hate it for their players, but I can't feel sorry for the whiner Bob Hoffman. Chatty of course comes in as the favorite. It will be wide open among the top 6 seeds in my opinion. But we need to gain some momentum very early in our first game by making positive things happen right out of the gate. WCU didn't exactly bludgeon us...we just played incredibly poorly there...we can turn that around. And Asheville is not quite Cullowhee. And then we'd get a shot to upset Chatty in all probablity...we are capable if we play very. Then we'd be in a final where anything could happen. It is a tall mountain for sure, but we could do it! GO TERRIERS!!

We get five days rest and prep before playing in the first round, which normally helps us a lot. We are tired and need it. WCU and Chatt stand twixt us and the finals. This is not our first rodeo ... I like our chances. This is what it has all been about.

You know what would be a lot of fun? Another Wofford-Furman final! Two rival teams who don't care for each other very much who also happen to be about dead even this year for a spot in the Big Dance! Both teams have a lot of work and an uphill battle to make this happen but it would be great if it did!

That would be a hoot '94, but the Terriers have got to get "hot" to have a chance to get there again. Based on the final two games, if they don't dial it up a couple of notches, they'll have a quick exit..........go Terriers!

We won this thing two years ago as a #4 seed.

We are good enough to make a run but we have to be more assertive on the offensive side of the ball. We have the talent to beat anyone in the league in my opinion except for Chatty. That 3 seed would have been nice so we could have avoided them until the finals. If we get to Sunday, we need a lot to go right for us and a lot to go wrong for them. But I am getting ahead of my self, we need to take care of business Saturday and that is not going to happen if we play like we have the last couple of games.

I meant to post this last night, but yesterday (and again today) I heard some Terrier magic on SiriusXM. On one of their championship week commercials, the final clip is of our very own Thom Henson with his famous "Put on your dancin' shoes, baby, we're going again" call. The commercial doesn't specify the team and most will never know its a Wofford call, but to me, it is perfect.

That one was from 2011 I think. I still like "and the littlest dog is going to the biggest dance" (2010) and "it never gets old" (2015). We are lucky to have great announcers like Mark and Thom. They are EXCELLENT for a small conference school, heck, for ANY school. I also love my SiriusXM. For someone who travels a lot for work, it is indespensible. And SXM always does an excellent job at sports coverage.

Wow, that is so cool! I wonder if Thom even knows. I guess somebody has told him if he hasn't heard it.

Samford beat VMI (92-85 in OT) today and will face UTC in quarterfinal game prior to Terriers-Cats.

El Cid leads Mercer by 3 with 10 mins left in 1H.

I guess we can dream about a Samford upset. Of course it doesn't matter anyway if we don't beat WCU. But when we won this thing a few years ago as a #4, we never had to face #1 Davidson because WCU scored a big upset over them! We then went on to oust WCU in the semis then win the championship game.

71-69 Mercer wins; Warren Sledge from El Cid missed front end of 1-1 with 2 seconds left. Bears rebounded, game over.
