Furman on Saturday

Time to put Monday behind us and focus on Saturday night. I hope the BenJo is filled for the seniors. There are some really class guys in the Class of '16 who have played their hearts out for Wofford. They need to be recognized by the Wofford community and they need to give Furman a real smack down.

I want us to smack down Furman Saturday at all costs, even if it meant we wouldn't win another game afterwards. We owe those guys one...big time! I know our guys have to feel the same after all that transpired at Timmons. I hate seeing those hideous purple jerseys!

Saw that the reserved seats are sold out. I am expecting Furman to bring a big crowd. Should be a great atmosphere. Can't wait!!!!

We should be fresh and prepared. Would expect a good crowd, including some Furples. Go Dogs.

Game on SoCon Digital Network at 7 p.m.

I have heard that Furman is bringing quite a lot of people. Only GA tickets remain for this game. A record crowd is expected and many of them will be in purple. I love how Furman people try to say that games with us aren 't that important to them. Their actions speak louder than their words. This is going to be a very tough Senior Night game for us as Furman is a very solid team, Stephen Croone is great, and both teams will likely be very hyped up and ready for this one. Aside from the seniors and bragging rights in the rivalry, this is an important game for the conference standings.

The way we are playing, we are actually lucky to be in a 31-31 tie at the half. We are allowing Furman to shoot it at about a 60% clip from the field and we have had quite a few unforced mistakes and turnovers. We should be leading in this game. If we can just play better in the second half we should pull this one out. As an added sidenote, when Furman fans chant "FU, FU..." after a made basket, I don't think the F stands for Furman...

Dogs win 77-73; closer than it should have been but we'll take it.

What a game! Multiple guys, including Spencer and Justin, were CLUTCH in the second half just when we needed them to be. Huge win for the team. Great way for Spencer, Justin, CJ, and Zack to go out. We were able to overcome some great shooting by the Paladins.

This time next year, we'll not only be saying goodbye to seniors, but to the BenJo as well. Only one more year for the facility...hard to believe.

You can tell that Furman is a very well coached team. We might very well see them a third time. FU will be a factor in Asheville, as will the Terriers, though I still think it's Chattanooga's to lose.
